War's Unborn, 2023
Acrylic on canvas
180" x 150"
Dar Al-Kalima University College of Arts & Culture, Gaza, Palestine
This painting reflects the silent pain that goes unheard—the tragedy of unborn children who were killed in their mothers’ wombs during the war in Gaza. Before they could see the light, before their hearts fully learned to beat, their lives were taken. The dominant red in the artwork symbolizes the overwhelming amount of bloodshed, as if life itself was cut short before it even began. This is not just a painting—it is a cry from the womb of life. It tells the story of children who never had names, who never had voices, yet were there… silent witnesses to the cruelty of war.
