About this Piece
This painting captures the harsh reality of famine in Gaza through the haunting image of a child’s back bones and spine, painfully visible, his body frail and exhausted: resembling a living skeleton. The emaciated figure symbolizes the silent suffering and slow death endured by countless children in Gaza under siege and hunger.
Surrounding the child are delicate white flowers, representing purity, hope, and the belief that these innocent souls, taken too soon, will ascend to heaven where they will find peace.
